What is Reiki? Reiki is a type of energy healing which uses similar energy people use in “tai chi”, “qi-gong” and martial arts. Reiki practitioners channel energy in a particular pattern to heal and harmonize the body’s chakras (energy centers). These chakras come out of line over time due to stress and manifested pain in the body. Reiki helps re-align these chakras to help the person feel better and restore the balance. Unlike other healing therapies based on the premise of a human energy field, Reiki seeks to restore order to the body whose vital energy has become unbalanced. Reiki energy has several basic effects: it brings about deep relaxation, destroys energy blockages, detoxifies the system, provides new vitality in the form of healing universal life energy, and increases the vibrational frequency of the body. What does a Reiki treatment do? Reiki balances and works on four levels of existence: 1. Physical: the body and manifested pain. 2. Emotional: what you are feeling. 3. Mental: what you are thinking. 4. Spiritual: your capacity to love yourself and others. Reiki works on the causes as well as the symptoms of disease, treating the disease rather than simply the symptoms. Please note: Reiki accelerates healing, which may sometimes cause some initial discomfort (intensity of symptoms the next day or two) as you heal at a faster rate by removing energy blockages in your being. While some results are immediate, for most symptoms of dis-ease it is recommended to continue with treatment and monitor your symptoms (just like going to see a chiropractor, a therapist or going to the gym). What Differentiates Reiki from Qi-Gong, Tai-qi, Massage and other types of healing? All healers use life force or Ki, but not all use Reiki. Reiki is a special kind of life force that can only be channeled by someone that has been attuned to it. It is possible that some people are born with Reiki or have gotten it some other way. However, most healers who have not received the Reiki attunement from a Reiki Master are not using Reiki but another kind of life force. People who already do healing work consistently report an increase of at least fifty percent in the strength of their healing energies after taking the Reiki training. What is a hands-on Reiki treatment like?
How does a distance treatment work? As with a hands-on reiki treatment the client pulls reiki through my hands to heal different ailments throughout the body. In a distance treatment, I temporarily open up a space around the client’s body to pull in the reiki energy. In a hands-on treatment, the practitioner acts as a medium or channel that the client can use to access the reiki. Similarly with a distance treatment, a space or area around the client is opened up for the client to access the reiki. I have worked with several clients successfully from while being continents away from them. (see testimonials for more info at www.universal-reiki.com/testimonials) How can I believe that it’s really working? The word “Reiki” by definition when broken down is as follows: “rei” means universal, and “ki” means energy or life force. Reiki is a life force energy that is everywhere. In this way, treatments be they hands-on or distance are both effective. How can I prepare for a distance healing? It may be best to receive the treatment during bedtime or while sleeping. Can anyone learn Reiki?
